Paying Attention To Details
This week I wanted to rant on the concept of paying attention to details. Coach John Wooden illustrated this concept perfectly. He taught his players how to put on their socks and tie their shoes. Why? Why would you define something you've been doing since you were 5 years old?
Well, your feet matter in the game of basketball. Wrinkles in your socks can lead to blisters. Blisters can lead to missed practice. Missed practice can lead to missed playing time. Missed playing time can lead to losing games.
You can certainly apply this idea to training, but I encourage the application of this concept to whatever problem you're trying to solve right now. The next step is stepping out of the sandbox you're used to playing in. Give the episode a listen and see how that may be exactly what you need to break through to the next level.
